The 10 People You Have To Follow To Understand British Politics
Way back in 2005, The Guardian wrote an article entitled "The new commentariat", looking at a new wave of bloggers who were reshaping the way Westminster thought.
Since then, times have changed. A new generation of bloggers has become a distinctive force in UK politics, while in other cases traditional journalists and even MPs have begin to use the internet and social media to spread a message outside of traditional outlets.
This list is in no way definitive, but is a place to start. Feel free to let us know in the comments of any other bloggers or tweeters you feel should have made the cut.
Guido Fawkes

Guido Fawkes is the pseudonym of Paul Staines. Guido focuses on corruption at Westminster, going after the Labour party especially. Fawkes has shed light on petty expense fraud by MPs, and his posts have led multiple government officials to resign.
Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown's advisor Damian McBride quit his position after Guido Fawkes exposed smear e-mails he wrote about the Conservative party. Fawkes has a section of the site called Totty Watch that is more to do with gossip, where he discusses things like the Sexy MP site titillating Parliament.

Iain Dale

Iain Dale is political columnist and former candidate for Conservative MP.
His blog was nominated for Guardian's Blog of the Year, and he is considered one of the top conservative voices in the British blogosphere. He was also the first openly gay Conservative candidate to run for Parliament. A frequent critic of the way Labour is treated in the media, Dale recently tweeted:
"Loving @piersmorgan's interrogative interviewing style which amounts to "So Gordon Brown, tell us how you saved the world singlehandedly."
