Who wants to wait around for those "next few weeks" to come and pass so that they can get Android 2.3.4 on their Nexus S?  If we know the mentality in the typical Nexus S user, they are rooted and ready.  They've have already tweaked and modified their phone, perhaps already running another ROM altogether.
